Optimistic/ family oriented / strong willed / tenderhearted / witless /chatty /unaware / Meddlesome

Anahita’s optimistic view of life was unexpected due to her family’s low status in life. While it made her family miserable to say the least, her life as a lowly fisherman’s daughter was all she wanted. Perhaps it was her love of the sea that keeps her that way or maybe she had subconsciously convinced herself that this was all she’ll ever have so she better enjoy it. As long as she had family that was all she needed. Her beliefs of togetherness motivates all her actions and actively provide for her broken family. Her spirit is far from broken in comparison.

Her sense of community is also strong, feeling deeply for others that struggled to provide. She’ll try to help them out if she were to see they were in the same boat as her family. Her middling is unwelcome by the proud but she has a hard time understanding people’s displeasure. Actually, as a whole, understanding the feelings of others does not come easy.It takes alot of bluntness for her to get sarcasm, often taking it at face value. She does have good intention but her talkative ways makes her hard to bare for long periods of time. Especially true when you mix in her minimal understanding of proper social ques. It alienates her or portrays her as goofy when she is much more than that.

Anahita lives in her only bubble and views life differently than others in her situation. Living only in the present rather than the far future. Little desire to climb the ranks to a better life alone. Either her whole family benefits or bust. She expects her whole family to feel the same way even when in reality… it half of them were already gone.

History:

The Rahimi family had four children, three daughters and one boy. Anahita was the middle sister but not easily forgotten among the set. She has always been an active child, telling jokes, and getting the family to play along with her. This was an oddity for those who knew the family, whom were constantly on the brink of losing everything due to misfortune. Her family was part of the fishing community, her father and older brother would catch the fish and her mother and sisters would help with selling them at the market. Her father unfortunately had an accident out at sea and was crippled in the process. Unable to work, her brother, took on all the responsibilities.

She admired him for it, being closest to him than anyone else in the family. He was charismatic and always smiled despite the constant stress he bared to save the family. He always tried to be happy and it really fueled her to do the same. The connection was only made between the two, as Anahita was unable to see her brother faults that the rest of the family did. They would constantly cast blame and punishment on her brother for slacking off and doing ‘pointless’ things instead of make money.

She grew to love the sea despite the misfortune it gave them. She would tag along with the other fishermen, old family friends, and talked their ears off, begging to learn until they felt it was no harm to let a small child fish or at least assist on the boat. They never took her seriously until she gotten much older and she had proven to be a great fishermen. Truly what kept her from fishing more often was the growing uneasiness among the fishermen about letting a girl fish with them. They wouldn’t want to be cast in a bad light.

So, the main income she helped to provide was selling fish, which was also a skill of hers. She loved fish and could talk all day to a customer about the catch of the day! Still, the family struggled as her father got worse. To pay for food, shelter and use of the boat, her older brother sought out a position in the Navy; where he will go out and make something of himself to bring back respect and money. A chance that only came around after her older sister was arranged to wed a Merchant who in return gave the family a decent amount of money.

He left and things were going well for awhile. Slowly, less money was coming in and letters became rare. The family was soon worse than ever. Cyrus, her brother, was no longer in contact, rumors started to spread that he deserted the Navy and had become a pirate but it was never confirmed. It was disgraceful nonetheless but her family all seem to accept the fact. All but Anahita, who couldn’t see how that was possible and thought of her brother as simply missing.

Now, it was left up to her and her mother to help provide. She begged her family friends to allow her to fish with them in secret even if it wasn’t constant. Only daring to do so when they went far off shore. Her mother started to sell woven baskets on days they were low on fish. Roshin, her older sister, helped out with small amount of money but her higher status made her pretentious and desired to keep a distance between her old family.

Anahita was slowing descending into the life of savaging on the side. Considering it harmless, she only took things she found lost on the streets or in the sea. She’ll swim in her warm clothing if the item was worth pondering. She’s not so dense to know it’s wrong to ponder off people’s lost items but her family needed her to bring in anything she can. She didn’t desire wealth or status but food and security. Only money can bring that. The more she can make, the higher hope she has of her sister and brother reuniting with the family.

---(NEW INFORMATION vvvv )---

The dark day had finally arrived for the Rihimi family. Anahita’s father’s health deteriorated and eventually he died with most of his loved ones close at hand. Using his dying breath, he ask for his only son but the family couldn’t fulfill his request. The quietly arranged a service for close friends but for many, the death of her father was heard about only in rumors.

Ana had been diligent working for her family during this time and hadn’t wandered off. Once she had spend a few days helping her younger sister deal with the loss, she faced a new challenged. Much to her dismay, her mother and older sister had decided there was no future in fish. They sold their little rickety fisherman house for whatever they could get and the remaining family members moved in with Ana’s older sister, Roshin.

Suddenly Ana had a warm place to sleep where the wind couldn’t creep in but she missed the sea. Her sister, pregnant and cranky, made it very clear that her mother was welcome to relax but Ana was old enough to get her life in order. With the resources borrowed by Roshin’s in laws, she aimed to change everything about Ana so she could find herself a man willing to take care of her so she didn’t have to.

Miserable, Ana did her best to do what was asked of her but manners seemed impossible for her. She couldn’t go a day without some scolding her for wiping her mouth on the nice clothing or for never combing her hair. Each attempt at befriending a suitor ended with no luck. Even worse, she was forbidden from returning to the sea. No one wanted their borrowed clothes smelling of fish.

Finally having enough, she prayed to Sargas and she received her answer. This wasn’t the path she was suppose to take. She had gone long enough without searching for her brother, a person always in the back of her mind. She had wanted to bring him home but now, at the very least, she needed him to know that her father called for him on his deathbed. So, in the dead of night, she planned to sneak out with a few items and a new pair of clothing. Her teasured red scarf left with her sleeping baby sister to remember her by.

During the night of her escape, her mother was waiting. She had woke up to her shuffling around and she knew in the pit of her stomach what was happening. Ana was unhappy here and she knew it. With tears in her eyes and fear in her heart, she gave her daughter a few things to sell for money and had to let her go. She begged her to come back often but they both knew it would be a long time before she came back.

TLDR: Father died and she was forced to quit fishing and become a better lady. She lived thru ‘bring on to us all’ from mulan and she hated it. She decided to leave and so she did. Living her life now as a free women ready to do dangerous things for money and her brother.

Additional Info:

  • Her youngest sister is named Yesfir.
  • Her hair is still a nightmare but somewhat healthier than it was before moving in with Roshin. If really dig your nose in to it, you can still smell the sea.
  • Stick fighting is something her brother use to admire and wanted to master but didn't have the freedom to do. Perhaps in honor of him, she picked up the desire. That and she was already handy with a fishing pole.
  • Will work for food and transportation.
  • She loved hearing everybody's stories of adventure and now she's excited to start making her own stories.
